Telehealth Informed Consent

Connectrapy โ€” A Platform of BBCMGTai Inc. Last Updated: June 2026

By booking and attending a session through Connectrapy, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. What is Telehealth

Telehealth involves the use of video, phone, or secure messaging technology to receive mental health services from a licensed or supervised behavioral health professional (“Therapist”) at a remote location, rather than in person.

2. Geographic Limitation

Connectrapy services are currently available only to individuals physically located within the United States at the time of each session. You confirm that you will be located within the United States during your sessions.

3. Benefits and Risks of Telehealth

Benefits may include increased access to care, convenience, reduced travel time, and the ability to receive care from a Therapist who understands your cultural background or needs.

Risks may include:

  • Technical difficulties that may interrupt or delay a session
  • The possibility that information transmitted electronically may not be sufficient for emergency situations
  • Limitations in the Therapist’s ability to assess body language or environment compared to in-person sessions

4. Emergency Situations

Telehealth is not appropriate for emergencies. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, having thoughts of suicide or self-harm, or believe you are in danger, you must call 911 or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline immediately, or go to your nearest emergency room. Your Therapist may not be immediately available and is not a substitute for emergency services.

5. Therapist Independence

Your Therapist is an independently licensed or supervised professional who maintains full clinical and ethical responsibility for your care. Connectrapy facilitates the connection and platform but does not provide clinical services and does not direct your Therapist’s clinical decisions.

6. Confidentiality

Your sessions are conducted through Doxy.me, a HIPAA-compliant video platform. While reasonable safeguards are in place, no electronic transmission can be guaranteed 100% secure. Please conduct sessions in a private location to protect your own confidentiality.

7. Recording

Sessions are not recorded by Connectrapy. You and your Therapist should discuss and mutually agree on any session recording directly; unauthorized recording by either party is prohibited without explicit consent.

8. Voluntary Participation

Your participation in telehealth services is voluntary. You may withdraw consent and discontinue telehealth services at any time by notifying your Therapist or Connectrapy at info@connectrapy.com.

9. Acknowledgment

By checking the consent box at booking, or by proceeding to schedule a session, you acknowledge that:

  • You have read and understood this Telehealth Informed Consent
  • You consent to receive mental health services via telehealth through Connectrapy
  • You understand the limitations described above, particularly regarding emergency situations
  • You are physically located within the United States
